Getting started

Authentication

Every request is authenticated with your API key.

Get your API key

Sign up for a free account — Google sign-in takes a few seconds. Your key is shown in thedashboard, ready to copy.

Send the key

Pass the key as the api_key query parameter:

GET
https://jsonlink.io/api/screenshot?api_key=YOUR_API_KEY&url=https://example.com

For the POST endpoint (Markdown) send it in the JSON body, or as a query parameter:

POST
curl -X POST https://jsonlink.io/api/markdown \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"api_key":"YOUR_API_KEY","url":"https://example.com"}'

Authentication errors

Keep your key safe

  • Call the API from your server or a serverless function, not from browser code where anyone can read the key.
  • Store the key in an environment variable, not in your repository.
  • If a key leaks, regenerate it from the dashboard. The old key stops working immediately.
