Getting started
Credits
JsonLink uses credits. Each successful request uses credits from your monthly balance, shared by every endpoint.
Cost per endpoint
| Endpoint | Path | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Extract metadata | /api/extract | 1 |
| Markdown | /api/markdown | 1 |
| Links | /api/links | 1 |
| Images | /api/images | 1 |
| Screenshot | /api/screenshot | 2 |
Only successful requests are billed. Timeouts, pages that can't be loaded and other errors cost nothing.
Credits per plan
| Plan | Price | Credits / month |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100 |
| Hobbie | $15 / month | 50,000 |
| Growth | $49 / month | 200,000 |
| Scale | $99 / month | 500,000 |
Yearly billing gives you 2 months free. See Pricing for details.
When credits reset
- Paid plans reset at the start of each billing period.
- The free plan renews 100 credits every month, on your signup day.
- Unused credits don't roll over.
Your balance and reset date are always visible in the dashboard.
Running out of credits
When your balance is used up, the API responds with HTTP 429:
{
"success": false,
"error": "Credits quota exceeded",
"message": "You have used the 100 free credits for this month (they renew on 2026-11-14). Upgrade from $15/month for 50,000 credits: https://jsonlink.io/pricing",
"resets_on": "2026-11-14",
"upgrade_url": "https://jsonlink.io/pricing"
}Upgrade your plan or wait for resets_on. Rate limits are separate from credits and also return 429 — check theerror field to tell them apart (see Rate limits).
